Groats Cereal
Buckwheat Groats are extremely high in fiber and protein. They are also a good source of potassium and magnesium. This is a good recipe for diabetics because the cinnamon and groats help regulate blood sugar and the natural, non-refined sugar does not affect blood sugar as much as other forms of sugar. Hash browns
I mixed up my facts at the time I made this video so I apologize. Starch is what helps the potatoes get crispy. Disregard what I say in the video about using non starchy potatoes and soaking the potatoes for extended periods of time. Instead, try to use a russet or a Yukon gold potato. Also, only rinse the potatoes for a short period of time just to remove any impurities. If you would like, add cheese or other add in’s while the potato is cooking.
Makes 4 servings
-6 Small peeled starchy potatoes
-1 Tablespoon of Maple Syrup (Or Normal White Sugar)
-2 Teaspoons of Salt
-1/4 cup of vegetable oil
-1/2 Teaspoon pepper
-Pepper
- Shred and briefly rinse potatoes to remove any dirt. Drain off all water.
- Add maple syrup and half of the salt and mix until the potato shreds are evenly coated.
- Heat oil and add potato shreds. Add the rest of the salt and pepper. Cook until brown on the bottom. Mix up and continue to cook.
- Repeat the process of cooking and mixing until the potatoes have reached your desired texture.
- Serve with ketchup and enjoy.
